World Information: Copied from Tarei's Jin Ling application with her permission:

Canon: A world based off of ancient China with Chinese Mythology and fantasy elements. Some of which include, cultivation; through use of manipulating spiritual energy from dantan, using the Golden Core to store energy. The users are capable of perform a number of abilities such as flying with swords, inedia, and slaying demonic creatures. There are supernatural beings that exist as well.

The world has several main sects that hold main power and practice different type of cultivation. These power are known as the Five Great Clans. The links here and on the the personal history will give a bit more details on the world as a whole.

Hakagemachi Information: Takes place in a fictional dilapidated Japanese city of Hakagemachi. It exists on the other side of reality of which is inspired by Japanese Lore. Characters brought into the world are possessed by one of the various types of youkai. They fight for survival through the process of being possessed by youkai and uncovering the mysteries of Hakagaemachi. More information in detail here.

Personality: (side note, I'm using Eastern order: Western would be Cheng Jiang, Wuxian Wei, Wangji Lan, Guangyao Jin, Yanli Jiang)
Zixuan is from a culture where they study and train hard from childhood to be righteous and good, strong enough to defend those who need help even if they do not always receive accolades in return. Zixuan in particular was raised to inherit his father's position as sect leader, so he's worked extra hard to model himself as a good and just person. More than for appearances sake, he believes himself to be a good person, even if he has made mistakes as a youth and acted too rashly.

He would help despite any danger to himself, as this is part of what he'd see as his duty. As an example, he helped Jiang Cheng rescue Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji - Wei Wuxian is someone he has argued with and fought frequently throughout their lives despite technically being on the same side.

He is spoiled, because he has been raised as the only acknowledged son of his father, making him the heir of a very wealthy and influential sect. He has several half siblings who have not been acknowledged, or are acknowledged but not seen as viable candidates for taking over after their father. He has essentially been placed on a high pedestal between his position, and his own hard work to become a strong cultivator (user of the martial arts, spiritual power, and other fine arts). As a teenager, he was extremely awkward about showing emotions, to the point he would get into ridiculous fights (mostly involving Wei Wuxian) or run away (when Jiang Yanli, his betrothed, later wife, confronted him about who had actually invited her to a Night Hunt, and he had to admit he did actually like her) depending on if he was angry or embarrassed. As he grew up, he came to accept and learn how better to show his emotions and speak up for himself, rather than be essentially a face or puppet for others to use. His wife had a big impact on this growth, as well as the war he fought in.

Zixuan's values were formed partially through what he feels is expected of him as his sect's heir, then through his studies to be a cultivator, then the war and growing up emotionally. As heir, he learned he needs to listen to his people's problems, try to help fix or solve them, hold good relations with the rest of the cultivation world in an effort to keep the world safe and peaceful. During his studies, he learned more of how to do these things, though it was half book-knowledge and half trial-by-fire (aka being thrown in with other sects' students in an effort to learn from each other, which ended up in fights sometimes). And lastly, the war taught him how to actually work with other people from various backgrounds, cultivation level, and how to conduct himself in the way he wants others to see him. He grew emotionally and learned how to express himself in a calmer way, though old relationships (namely with Wuxian) can still spring him to react before thinking.

He also observed how his father handled his illegitimate children from the many prostitutes his father was with throughout his life. Namely, the dismissive way his father treated them, even when those, like Jin Guangyao who shares a birthday with him, worked hard to be approved of, but was constantly dismissed or cast out or generally distrusted. Zixuan saw how hard his brother worked and tried to understand why his father kept dismissing these efforts, to the point he did his best to talk his father around accepting his brother, pointing out all the good Guangyao has done for their sect and the cultivation world as a whole. Between observing his father's behavior and doing his best to mitigate between his parents from when he was young, he strove to be the best leader he could be, better than his father.

He never saw his half siblings as potential replacements, just as people who deserved to be given the chance to be recognized as who they are. In this way, he is selfless, though in part it is learned through observing the selfishness of others around him (especially in his sect). He even does his best, for his wife's sake, to help her sect brother, Wuxian, despite the long history of disagreement between them. He learned that a cousin was going to ambush Wuxian on the way to Zixuan's son's one month celebration, and immediately ran off to try and stop the altercation. He knew it would put him in danger, went anyway, because he believed Wuxian would do nothing to hurt anyone.

Zixuan would rather put himself in danger than risk harm being done to another who might be less able to withstand whatever danger is at hand. This is in part because he sees that as his duty, but also because he feels it is only right. During the war in particular, where his father was reluctant to join the war (accused of waiting until he was sure which side would win), Zixuan himself joined the efforts pretty much right from the beginning. This shows that while his spoiled and arrogant, when it comes right down to it, he will do what is right.

CRAU developments: Zixuan does not change a great deal at the core. He does, however, become a bit more humble and accepting of the strange and weird, as he's had to learn to share his body with another being that can literally take over his body should the youkai deem it necessary. He's a bit more parental and willing to work with others to achieve a goal, even if he himself fails to complete it himself - if the team wins, he counts it a win himself. (aka if the pack survives/succeeds, so does he).

Key themes: Honor (he values his image, both public and private) is important to him.

Main Motivation: Family. Zixuan (and his okami, Kujaku) will do anything for his family.

Due to the time and reality warping in Hakagemachi, Jin Zixuan was not able to access his canon abilities. Due to that issue no longer being present, his spiritual powers have returned. Jin Zixuan will have to work with the okami in order to use his canon abilities at their full potential.

Youkai- an okami he calls Kujaku whom shares his body and lends his powers and strength. As an okami host, Zixuan has wolf ears and tail and has to keep contact with the wolf mask, though it can be on any part of his body. This okami is skilled with memory-viewing magic, and has heightened physical and sensory attributes and are much larger compared to normal wolves. This okami can take over Zixuan's body at whim (generally only to the point of making him unable to move or talk if he's judged about to act foolishly) and even change his body to that of a wolf. There is also an element of illusion that ties in with the memory viewing and will only be used with the permission of all players involved.

Strict, wise, and graceful, Okami are watchful and patient youkai, only using their ferocious tendencies when necessary. Okami are driven to attack those who it determines are evil and protect those who are virtuous, depending on what it sees. They are also providers, taking great care to ensure that those around them are sheltered and fed.
